tonight: resurrection

“A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.”
-John Steinbeck

all the places seemingly destroyed when the tomb was sealed
become altars of amazement
when right-side up turned upside down
as he emptied the grave of power
life arises out of the most unlikely of places
strange perhaps, but more so beautiful and hopeful
impossible but for divine imagination
that is the word that became flesh that died
lived and lives
resurrection is restoration and reconciliation
it is hope to be guzzled and given by many a thirsty soul
a song sung to the frightened, salve for the broken
wide-eyed awake to this:
permanent altars of amazement: fragmented hearts whole and sealed
