today: it is written (part one)

“…Know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you can destroy.”
President Barak Obama

if we can change to the extent
that jim crow died (mostly)
and freedom lives
then we can change
and bend
towards justice and mercy
that all may be free
please, president
follow this better lead:
humility

Whether you voted for Obama or not, his opening speech was profound and beautiful in it’s hopeful determination to change this country for the better. And the closing prayer during the inauguration… oh man, the tears just streamed down my face. Justice and mercy… swords into plowshares… hope looks good on you, America. May grace carry us on.

I’ve got a full blog coming, I think, but wanted to get this down.
